Participating in your local theatre has to be one of the most rewarding experiences you can have as an actor—whether you’re experienced or not! If you’ve been considering getting into acting, or you want to better your craft, then you should audition for a role your community theatre’s next production. For theatre auditions in Norcross, try stopping by the Lionheart Theatre Company, where we will be putting on the following shows in 2017.

The Children’s Hour

The Children’s Hour was written by Lillian Hellman and is a not a story solely for children, unlike you’d expect. This brilliant play tells the story of two women who are in-charge at a school for girls. Scandal breaks out when one student starts the rumor that the two women are having an affair.

There are eight primary characters that you can choose from when auditioning for your role, and there are an additional six minor characters. Depending on your niche, if you have one, choosing a specific role to audition for might be best, as the characters in The Children’s Hour have either uber-strong or sensitive personalities.

“It’s Robin of the Hood!” If you aren’t familiar with this classic tale, it tells the story of one brave man who steals from the rich to give to the needy. He slips through the fingers of the oppressive men in charge, which makes for an exciting production. You’ll find yourself rooting for the criminal, but his intentions are good… right?

The specific version of Robin Hood that the Lionheart Theatre will be performing, written by Tim Kelly, is not a musical, as it often is. Children ages 10 and up are invited to audition for this play. Robin Hood is not a paying production, but it is sure to put on a thrilling, rewarding show for the Norcross community.
