It’s finally March, which means spring will officially be here in just a few weeks! We know, we know, it’s been an unseasonably warm winter here in the Atlanta-area, which is just more reason to get out there and enjoy the beautiful weather before it gets unbearably hot. If you’re looking for things to do in Norcross and the surrounding metro-Atlanta area, then you’re in luck! Here’s a list of the events we are most looking forward to this March.
1. Park’Nership at Graves Park, Norcross
March 4 at 9AM
This Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to noon, you can join your local Norcross-ians in an awesome volunteer opportunity. With the help of your neighbors, you can help clean up our city’s parks and make nature’s true beauty shine. Be sure to bring sturdy shoes, a pair of gloves, and water to stay hydrated. It may be a bit of work, but this is a great opportunity to give back to your community, while spending time outdoors.
2. Atlanta St. Patrick’s Parade
March 11 at noon
Celebrate the luck of the Irish in downtown Atlanta with the 135th annual St. Patrick’s Parade. Colors of orange and green will blossom in the streets of Atlanta, and you and your friends are sure to have a great time. Last year there were more than 2,300 participants, over 80,000 spectators, and 100 parade units with 749 dancers and musicians. It goes without saying that this is one downtown party that you don’t want to miss!
3. St. Patrick’s Shamrock and Murder Mystery Luncheon at George Pierce Park, Suwanee
March 17 at 11AM
If you are looking to do something fun and different this St. Patrick’s Day, stop by the community recreation center at George Pierce Park in Suwanee and join in on the murder mystery fun! You’ll be a part of the mystery as you and your friends watch the story unfold. Lunch is $15 per person, and you can register online with the code GPP12902.
4. American Craft Show at the Cobb Galleria Centre, Atlanta
March 17 to 19, times vary
For the craft shows of all craft shows, stop by the American Craft Show, happening this month! There will be more than 225 contemporary artists displaying their jewelry, furniture, clothing, decor, and so much more. Grab your friends and family and head over to the American Craft Show, which is a must-attend for arts and crafts lovers.
5. “The Foreigner” at Lionheart Theatre, Norcross
March 17 to April 2, times vary
We are excited to have “The Foreigner” on stage here at the Lionheart Theatre. Opening night is March 17, with showings on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. Directed by Scott King, this story takes place in rural Georgia and tells the tale of Froggy’s friend Charlie, who is painfully shy but overhears more than he should have. It’s a hilarious journey, and we can’t wait for you to come see the show.
