Learn more about this unique show and how you can join us for a delicious dinner.

About the Show

Moonlight and Magnolias, written by Ron Hutchinson, is a very special production, close to the heart of Atlanta. Based off of true events, this show tells the tale of how Gone With the Wind made it from page to screen. In 1939, David O. Selznick was unhappy with the screenplay for his latest box-office hit. He fired his writers and director, and hired The Wizard of Oz director Victor Fleming and screenwriter Ben Hecht in a last-ditch attempt to make Gone With the Wind the smashing success it was promised to be.

Moonlight and Magnolias shows how Selznick, Fleming, and Hecht wrote the entire screenplay to the movie we all know and love — in just less than a week! Hecht, however had not even read Gone With the Wind. So, Flemming and Selznick take it upon themselves to act the book out for him. Their secretary does her best to keep them fed, their diet consisting of peanuts and bananas, and on-course to finish the screenplay. It’s a hilarious and wild ride you’ll have to keep reminding yourself is a true story.

About the Dinner

In an effort to offer the Norcross community a unique dinner theatre experience, Lionheart has paired with local restaurant, The Crossing. The food and service at this wonderful eatery simultaneously represent and stand out in the historic Norcross community. Anyone who has ever eaten at this lovely establishment knows that the piano stage is the perfect place to host this hilariously entertaining one-set show. Thanks to the help of director Tanya Caldwell, the brilliant members of the Lionheart cast will also be incorporating the piano into the show.
