Many of us grew up watching A Charlie Brown Christmas, so it is a production that is very near and dear to our hearts. At Lionheart, we do the program justice by putting on a show that is word-for-word to the television version. The all-child cast of the Lionheart production mimics the ages of the characters in the TV favorite, to further add whimsy and charm to the show.

If you aren’t familiar with A Charlie Brown Christmas, the story is about a group of beloved characters who are determined to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Charlie Brown himself becomes disgusted with the materialism that has consumed the holiday, and he accepts the offer to direct the school Christmas pageant.

This task proves to be difficult for him, and he employs the help of a scrawny Christmas tree to bring the true spirit of the holiday back into the lives of his close friends. It’s a heartwarming tale that’s sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

Charlie Brown and the History of Lionheart

Not only is this tale special to Lionheart simply because of its classic timelessness, but it was also the very first production the theatre company ever put on, back in 2000. In the past, the theatre has put on A Charlie Brown Christmas for eight years in a row, and the cast and crew are elated to bring the show back.

For 2016, this production will wrap up the year for Lionheart, and Director, Tanya Caldwell wouldn’t want the season to end any other way. She loves the A Charlie Brown Christmas because it is a lighthearted favorite that everyone adores. The theatre hopes that it will bring the Norcross community together one last time in 2016, to share in the joy of the holiday season.
