The Tale of Robin Hood
If you’re not familiar with the story of Robin Hood, that’s okay! We don’t judge. In this traditional tale, the protagonist, Robin Hood, steals from the rich to give to the poor. Of course, his actions cause a series of reactions which cause the poor to rise up against the rich in a thrilling battle. This classic case of ethics causes the audience to feel the rush of an internal struggle, as they are not sure if they should root for Robin or not. There have been many, many adaptations of this story, but here at Lionheart, we think we’ve found the version of Robin Hood that will best suit and entertain our favorite community.
About the Lionheart Theatre Production
One unique thing about the Lionheart production of Robin Hood is that we have cast a number of our community’s most talented young actors — about 25 to be exact! Tim Kelly’s version of this classic tale includes an evil queen character as well, which is always fun to act out on the stage. Kelly’s version is not a musical, but the audience will still enjoy watching children of all ages come together to create a fantastic production. In fact, we even have a father-son duo working together on the stage for this production, so the sense of community you will feel while sitting in the audience will be genuine and heartwarming.
The show will be one stage from July 13 to July 16, with eight showtimes total:
- Thursday - 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
- Friday - 2:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.
- Saturday - 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m., and 7:30 p.m.
- Sunday - 2:00 p.m.
All shows will take place at Lionheart Theatre (10 College Street, Norcross), and tickets are only $10. Alternatively, if you are part of day camp, group tickets are only $5 a seat. Further, your family is sure to enjoy desserts and punch with the cast after the show. Shows run about an hour, maybe a little over, so even your littlest ones can enjoy the entire show. It’s a family-centered event, and the perfect way for all ages to beat the heat this summer.
