Instructor: Tanya Caldwell

*Please note: This course is not recommended for beginner actors, as in a scene study, it helps to have some experience acting and on stage to really apply the concepts.

Scene Study is a very important part of the actor’s process. The actor learns how to harness his or her skill set to create a performance. Scene study involves actors taking a specific scene from a play and working on it in front of an acting instructor and group of peers. The goal is to receive specific constructive feedback that helps the actor improve their craft and their abilities in specific roles. Scene Study is a way for actors to continually work on their craft and discover their strengths and weaknesses. We will learn to create characters and connect to the emotions of the part.

During our time together we will:

  • Tackle scenes from selected plays
  • Explore the text and characterization
  • Simplify your performance as you receive feedback
